Colleagues Who Backed Harvard Professor Retract Support Amid Harassment Claims
Almost all of the 38 professors who signed the letter defending Comaroff later retracted their statements, claiming they did not have full information about the case. Right before the formal lawsuit against Comaroff was filed, more than 50 other Harvard scholars issued an open letter criticizing Comaroff's defenders for easily believing his lawyers' statements.
