Roland Fryer, Accused of Harassment at Harvard, Quits Economics Panel
Prominent economist Roland G. Fryer Jr., who is under investigation for sexual harassment at Harvard University, resigned from the executive committee of the American Economic Association (AEA). This decision followed mounting pressure from fellow economists after The New York Times reported that a Harvard investigator concluded Fryer had engaged in "unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature" towards four women in his research lab. Fryer, faces multiple ongoing investigations at Harvard related to harassment, retaliation, and financial misconduct. Fryer did not disclose these investigations during his nomination for the AEA committee, which some members learned about only through media reports. Following the publication of the Times article, several economists publicly called for Fryer's removal from the committee.| Creator |
