Grad Student Escaped Rape Near Gutman
A Harvard graduate student narrowly escaped a rape attempt near Gutman Library. The incident occurred when a car pulled up beside the woman on Appian Way, and the occupant asked for directions before grabbing her and making threats. The woman managed to persuade the assailant not to rape her and escaped. The student did not need medical care, and police have a good description of the suspect, who is believed to be unaffiliated with Harvard. Morse noted that increased security measures in Houses would not prevent such street incidents, emphasizing the inherent risks of an urban environment.| Creator |
