More Than 1,000 Harvard Affiliates Sign Letter Calling For Title IX Transparency from Administration
Campus anti-sexual assault advocacy group Our Harvard Can Do Better submitted a letter to University administrators demanding greater transparency about changes to Harvard's Title IX policy, set to comply with new federal rules. The letter, signed by over 1,000 students, outlines 16 demands, including adopting an "affirmative consent" standard, maintaining "preponderance of evidence" in complaint processes, and increasing education and training. The group, collaborating with other student organizations, set an Aug. 3 deadline for a response. They also called for defunding the Harvard University Police Department, reallocating funds to the Office of Sexual Assault Prevention and Response, and involving community members in drafting the new policy.| Creator |
