Title IX Complaints at Harvard Surge After Pandemic Low, Per Annual Report
Harvard's Title IX report revealed a significant drop in complaints and disclosures of sexual harassment during the 2021 fiscal year, attributed to the shift to remote learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The total disclosures fell from 449 in 2020 to 252 in 2021, with formal complaints dropping from around 43 to 27. Over half of the disclosures came from students, with 38 percent of alleged perpetrators being students and 35 percent being faculty, staff, or postdoctorates. In fiscal year 2022, as the university returned to full capacity, disclosures increased by nearly 90 percent and formal complaints rose by 52 percent. The report also provided demographic data from the past six years, showing most formal complaints were filed by females against male respondents.| Creator |
