Another Voice On Harassment
A 1982 report from a joint committee of Harvard Overseers and Radcliffe Trustees on sexual harassment at Harvard-Radcliffe supports current harassment policies and the University definition of sexual harassment but recommends increased publicity and transparency, finding a middle ground between all of the policy reforms members of the Radcliffe Union of Students had lobbied for while supporting the status quo. While it finds current counseling adequate and disciplinary procedures satisfactory, it does not align with student calls for clearer definitions and explicit policies on harassment and punishments. Additionally, the report urges stronger action against gender harassment, such as derogatory remarks and offensive classroom materials, and recommends appointing a university authority to set standards.| Creator |
