Dean Reprimands Govt. Professor
In December 1979, Dean Rosovsky officially reprimanded Professor Martin L. Kilson of the Government department for making improper advances toward Helene Sahadi York, a freshman who filed a sexual harassment complaint. Kilson was informed that if the behavior repeated, the matter could be taken to the Corporation, which holds the power to revoke tenure. Rosovsky also requested Kilson write a formal apology to York. York alleged that during a meeting in his office, Kilson patted her hair, kissed her on the head, and attempted to kiss her on the lips, prompting her to leave quickly. Kilson acknowledged his actions were improper but claimed they were misinterpreted. While York appreciated Rosovsky's involvement, she expressed concerns about the sufficiency of the reprimand to prevent future harassment.| Creator |
