Child Abuse Suit Against Former Prof. Continues
A lawsuit against former Harvard Medical School professor Dr. Melvin D. Levine, accused of sexually abusing at least six patients, will proceed after Massachusetts Superior Court denied Children's Hospital's motion to dismiss negligence claims on the grounds of "charitable immunity." The plaintiff, identified as John Doe No. 4, alleges abuse during psychotherapy sessions nearly 40 years ago. The court's decision marks a significant victory for victims of sexual abuse, challenging the application of charitable immunity in such cases. The lawsuit, one of five pending against Levine, includes accusations of genital fondling and masturbation. Levine has denied the allegations.| Creator |
