Protesters Hold Second Rally for Pilar
Approximately 30 people protested in support of Johany Pilar, a mailroom worker who reported being sexually harassed by a co-worker. Pilar shared her experience of being grabbed and propositioned by a male colleague. After speeches outside the Holyoke Center, the group marched around delivered a letter to University President Drew G. Faust detailing Pilar's story and demanding justice. Pilar alleged that after reporting the incidents, she faced threats of disciplinary action and was prevented from seeing a therapist. This rally followed a previous one held in October. University spokesperson Kevin Galvin has stated that Harvard takes such allegations seriously and ensures a policy of non-retaliation. The letter, signed by around 75 people, called for a new supervisor for Pilar, removal of disciplinary warnings from her file, and an end to the threats against her.| Creator |
