Council Discusses Sexism, Lottery, History Courses
In its spring semester meeting, the Undergraduate Council at Harvard passed several resolutions and reports addressing various campus issues. Prompted by controversy over a Pi Eta Speakers Club newsletter that referred to women as "slobbering bovines," the council adopted measures to increase awareness about sexism and sexual harassment. These included requesting President Bok to publish an open letter on co-education in Harvard's community, subsidizing a film about images of women in advertising titled "Killing Us Softly," and co-sponsoring the "Take Back the Night March" with the Radcliffe Union of Students and the Women's Center.Files
