SWAT Protests Outside Fly Club Punching Party

Around 30 protesters from the student group Stop Withholding Access Today (SWAT) picketed outside the Fly Club, demanding the club admit women. The protest aimed to disrupt a formal event and dissuade those "punched" by the club from joining. Protesters confronted attendees with shouts of "Pigs" and "Get a conscience," while chanting "One, two, three, four, open up the front door" and ringing the doorbell. Fly Club president Joel S. Post '89 claimed the protest did not significantly interfere with the event while an onlooker explained that "You need a place to just chill with the guys sometimes" and "Girls are absurd after awhile." Despite initial plans for a larger turnout, organizers considered the rally a success, believing it embarrassed some club members and made them reconsider their membership.
